INTRODUCING OUR CONFERENCE SPEAKERS:
Beth Mikrut Gilles
Beth Mikrut Gilles is a dedicated advocate for early childhood education who brings a deep passion for supporting staff and creating meaningful change. Over the past 13 1/2 years, she has served in many roles — business owner, administrator, center director, coach, and mentor — always with a focus on connection, encouragement, and growth.
In her presentation, “Perseverance: The Power of Staying In,” Beth shares an uplifting message about grit, grace, and what it really takes to keep showing up — especially when the work gets tough. With real-life stories, uplifting perspectives, and a healthy dose of encouragement, she'll help us reconnect with our "why" and remind us that perseverance isn’t just about pushing through — it’s about holding onto purpose, leaning into each other, and finding the joy in the journey.

The Ripple Effect: Creating a Climate of Healthy Interactions
Do unto others as you’d have others do onto others… Creating a climate of healthy interactions begins with adults and creates long lasting ripple effects. Thinking about the interactions we have with staff, those that staff have with one another, and the landscape these create for children, we’ll reflect on how well these interactions bring our values to life and what your program experience feels like.

Foley and Lardner, LLP
As you may know, our current Child Care Counts funding is set to end in July. The Governor has proposed a $500 million state investment to extend Child Care Counts and continue stabilizing our industry. However, legislators remain skeptical about funding an industry made up of diverse small businesses. It is crucial for them to recognize that we contract with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to provide a vital service to our communities, one that is highly regulated to ensure both safety and quality.
